Take a look at my resume

How I got here: My passion for food technology started when I took Biotechnology in high school. Each week we looked at a different aspect of biotechnology, making yogurt was our first lab. While other students turned their nose at our product, I was excited to try it and have been fascinated by food production via biological and chemical transformations.

Next, we had a 5-week series of chocolate making in CBE 101. We looked at the sustainability of chocolate-making, processing steps, quality, and sensory analysis, with the opportunity to make our own chocolate bars.

Another passion of mine is the chemical and biological processes involved in brewing beer, which led to me minoring in fermentation and food science. I have since taken Brewing Processes and Farm-to-Table Food Science as courses going towards this minor. I am currentlytaking Brewing.

In the Arjun Lab, I work on synthetic signaling systems in brewers' yeast and viral engineering within sorghum plants, utilizing the guidance of researchers and following standard protocols independently.

Thanks for visiting! I’m excited to discover career advancement opportunities and contribute towards the food science community.
